사단법인 한국놀이치료학회는 놀이치료 분야의 학문적 이론 재구성과 회원들의 임상 전문가로서의 성장을 위해 정기적인 국내학술대회와 더불어 국제학술대회를 개최하고 있다. 한국놀이치료학회 국제교류위원회를 중심으로 2~3년 주기로 대회를 준비하고 있으며,
2006년에 ‘Child Abuse & Family Counseling’이란 주제로 제1회 국제학술대회를 개최한 이래, 그 동안 CCPT, CPRT, Adlerian Play Therapy, Advanced Play Therapy, PTSD and Group Play Therapy, Gestalt Therapy with Children and Adolescents, Harnessing the power of interpersonal neurobiology in family play therapy 등 다양한 주제를 다루고 있다.
